Night chapter 5, Johnathan gutierrez- 2

It was the last day of the year, Rosh Hashanah. The word last made Elie think if it was realy the last day for him to live. Elie doubts his faih in god and angrily thinks why he should praise god the almighty." Why but why would I bless him? Because he caused thousands of children to burn in his mass graves?" (67)  Elie says to himself why he should praise god when he has killed thousands of children. Elie thinks about everything god has done to world, only hurt, when all they have done is praise him. Eli is then transferred him to another kommando. The first selection had happened, everybody had to run very fast, everyone who did not pass the selection would be killed. Eli had passed and so had his father, but a few days passed and another selection happened. His father was chsen to be in the next selection, he asked Elie to take his spoon and knife. Eli's father passed the selection but Akiba Drumer was a victim of the selection. Winter had arrived and Elie's foot began to swell up from the cold. Elie gets his foot operated on, everything goes well, but the russians had come closer. They soon get ready to be evacuated to a new camp.
