The Unexpected - Alondra Tamayo 3

This picture below shows Jewish people being hanged.

The beliefs of the Jewish people faided  when they saw the hangings that occured. The prisoners were forced to see these 3 people die that day which one of them included the young boy. They were all sentence to death because the two men hanged stole two plates of soup which they weren't suppose too and they were caught. This was a message for the prisoners that ment that if you steal you will pay the price.

A young boy was hanged because he was caught stealing when a electrical plant at Buna failed. Which they found a trail where they found important superior weapons hidden. The boy was also sentenced by law that condemned to death. Everyone was forced to see the three gallows during roll call. The three prisoners were in chains and everyone just staired at them.

"All eyes were on them." (64) He was the last one to die the two older men right away the young boy lasted for 30 minutes still moving and breathing. "His tongue was still red, his eyes not yet estinguished"(65).

Religion ( Kaddish)

Elie's feelings toward God changed throught the book. In the beginning Elizer was very religious and wanted to know more about Kaddish. Now in Chapter 4 his feelings toward God faided. "This is where- hanging here from this gallows..." (65). This shows that Elie thinks that God is dead because since they were send from concentration camp to concetration camp God didn't help them at all. So how could he thank God if they are living in hell right now.

This picture shows how Jews were laughed at and touchered by the SS officers. Which connects to Elizer's father that was beaten up by Idek. Elizer was angry because his father did not defent himself from Idek. He knew that he could of have beaten up Idek, but he didn't. Idek (Kapo) is a very violent man and is he explodes he will tourcher the first person he sees. Elizer's feelings towards his dad changed from the beginning till now "I felt anger at the moment, it was not directed at the Kapo but at my father" (54).
