Night chapter 4, johnathan gutierrez-2

In chapter 4, Elie and his father have just arrived at a new camp: Buna. Elie describes the camp as " though it been through an epidemic: empty and dead." The head of thecamp met tem there, he was a stocky man with big shoulders, neck of a bull, thick lips, and curly hair."(47) Elie and his father then began to look for people they knew. Many inmates described the camp as " Buna is a very good camp. One can hold one's own here."(48) "A tough looking boy with shifty eyes" as Elie described him came over to him and asked him if he would like to get into a good kommando. the only thing he boy asked was for Elie's shoes and in return Elie asked for his father to stay with him. But then later Elie's shoes were later taken away. He then was sent for a medical checkup, but they hardly examined him, they just asked " are you in good health?"(48) Him and his father were then moved to the musicians block. They had a as there leader. One day Idek was venting with fury and happend to cross his path. idek then threw himself at him like a wild beast, Elie was aching all over. Idek was a Kapo and was very violent. At the end of the chapter, Elie asks himself where god is, while a child was hanged. "For God's sake, where is God."(65)
